On the Battlefield

November 15, 2013

Disquiet on the battlefield,

wounds never to be healed

internal pain has no shield

all the cards have been dealed,

For me there is no yield.

Battered, bloody, congealed

Ambitions stealed

All hopes repealed.

Like a sword, this pain I wield.

Entering no mans land,

distorted, swollen glands

barely able to stand

reaching for a ghostly hand,

it disperses and disbands.

Full of anger, but good to release it here.
Amazing how many words you rhymed to battlefield………..lol.
    Always inspired poetry.

    • Thanks Linda, lol, yes I was testing myself there, I wrote this one on miniclip comments page originally then transferred it here, before you know who had a chance to delete it 😀
