The Wonders of a Christmas Day

December 24, 2013

Moving near to Christmas morning

crisp and cold, a new day dawning

awaiting with goodwill and faith

presents wrapped up warm and safe

hoping for a wish come true

something fresh and something  new

no place for the egoist self

or thoughts of a personal wealth

to all lasting happiness and good health

as Santa Claus slinks in by stealth…

the sonorous magic sweeps us in

presents opened with wide grins

Food and wine to satiate

Music and games to celebrate

A glowing pocket of warmth and heat

encompassed by a snowy white sheet

from this moment never to stray

the wonders of a Christmas day
